Award-Winning Senior Photographer in Columbus | National Contest Recognition

Some years quietly move your business forward. Other years surprise you in the best way possible.

This past year brought an incredible honor: multiple photography awards from competitions that received thousands of image submissions from photographers around the world. Having several images recognized among that level of talent is both humbling and energizing.

As a photographer who specializes in high school senior portraits, every image I create starts with one goal—capturing a senior’s personality, confidence, and story in a way that feels authentic and unforgettable.

Entering photography competitions is always a leap of faith. When you submit an image, you never really know what will happen. Thousands of photographs are entered, each representing a unique moment, creative vision, and artistic style.

That’s what makes these awards so meaningful.

Several of the images honored this year were selected from massive pools of submissions, which makes the recognition even more special. But one award stands out in a particularly powerful way.

One of my images was chosen by fellow photographers.

Not just judges—but artists who live and breathe photography every day. Photographers who understand lighting choices, posing, storytelling, and the countless small decisions that go into creating a powerful portrait.

Having an image resonate with other photographers is an incredible feeling.

While awards are exciting, they’re not the reason I pick up my camera. The real magic happens during senior portrait sessions—watching seniors step into their confidence, celebrate their personalities, and document one of the most exciting milestones of their lives. But recognition like this is a reminder that the work matters. That the creativity, the late-night editing, the constant learning and experimenting—it all adds up.

Every award-winning image begins the same way: with a real person, a real moment, and a story worth telling.

To the amazing seniors and families who trust me to capture this once-in-a-lifetime season—thank you. Your sessions are the reason these images exist in the first place. 

And to the photography community that continues to inspire, challenge, and push creativity forward—thank you for recognizing this work.
